Dr. Hiroshi Hirayama is currently Clinical Professor and Director in the Division of Postdoctoral Prosthodontics in Department Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

He graduated Kyushu Dental College with D.D.S. degree in 1977. He is a former Professor, the division head of the Postgraduate Prosthodontics division in Department of Prosthodontics and Operative dentistry. He has served as Director of the Graduate and Postgraduate Prosthodontics program since 1994, Director of Advanced Education in Esthetic Dentistry program since 2004 and Director of Advanced dental Technology and Research program since 2009 at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine until December 2014. Under his supervision over 50 past graduates successfully completed board examinations and became Diplomate of American Board of Prosthodontics under his guidance.

He is the recipient of 2014 American College of Prosthodontists the Educator of the year award and the recipient of 2016 Garber-Staffanous Prosthodontic Program Director's Award for Excellence by American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. He received his Master’s degree and a certificate in Prosthodontics from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics. He lectures nationally and internationally and has published extensively on peer reviewed journals, while he maintains his private practice in Boston.
